Understanding Gross vs. Net Pay
Please note that this calculator provides Gross Pay. This is the total amount of money you earn before any deductions are taken out.
Deductions usually include:
- Government Taxes (Federal/State/Central)
- Social Security / PF
- Health Insurance premiums
- Retirement contributions
Your actual "take-home" pay (Net Pay) will be lower than the figures shown here depending on your local tax laws and personal deductions.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
1. Does this tool convert currency values?
No, this tool does not convert exchange rates (e.g., USD to INR). It formats your input and result based on the selected currency. If you enter 500 and select INR, the result is calculated in INR.
2. How is the monthly pay calculated?
Since months have different numbers of days, we calculate the monthly average by taking the Annual Salary and dividing it by 12.
3. What is "Time and a Half"?
Time and a half refers to an overtime rate that is 1.5 times your regular hourly wage. For example, if you make 20/hour, time and a half would be 30/hour.
